Independent work, properly supported
Our tutors are self-employed professionals, but that doesn’t mean working in isolation. We provide the information, safeguarding framework and provision support you need to understand each assignment and deliver it well.

All opportunities are offered on a self-employed contractor basis. Registration with Parity Education does not guarantee assignments or a minimum number of hours.

We regularly receive new referrals from Local Authorities and other commissioners. Explore the assignments we’re currently looking to match with suitable professionals.
Lead Specialist Tutor — SEMH / Trauma-Informed
Lead the educational programme for a primary-aged learner within a 2:1 alternative provision package, using trauma-informed, low-arousal approaches to build trust, routine and engagement in English and maths. QTS welcome but not essential with substantial specialist experience.
Specialist Tutor — Autism / EBSA
Provide consistent 1:1 tuition for a secondary-aged learner with autism, anxiety, EBSA/school avoidance and selective mutism. Build trust gradually through a calm, low-pressure, relationship-led approach, introducing learning at the learner's pace and working collaboratively with the family and involved professionals.
Pupil Support Assistant (SEND/SEMH)
Work as part of a 2:1 team alongside a Lead Specialist Tutor across Cambridgeshire, helping create emotional safety, consistency and regulation for learners with complex SEND and SEMH needs. Four placement options available: CB6 Ely/Haddenham, CB4 Cambridge, CB22 Sawston and PE15 March.
Interim Operations & Site Support Coordinator
Provide hands-on operational and site support at our Medway provision, combining administrative coordination with day-to-day site management. An initial 3-month self-employed assignment with immediate start.

Our opportunities change regularly. You can still register with Parity Education and tell us where you work, your availability and the young people you have experience supporting. We can then consider you when suitable future assignments arise.

High standards from the start
Our tutors work with children and young people who may have complex SEND, SEMH and safeguarding needs. Our onboarding process is thorough for a reason.
Enhanced DBS
An appropriate Enhanced DBS check is required before you can begin an assignment. We verify documentation as part of our safer recruitment process.
Professional references
We obtain and verify appropriate professional references as part of onboarding.
Identity & right to work
We complete identity and right-to-work checks and verify the documentation required for our compliance records.
Safeguarding & policies
Before delivering provision, contractors complete required safeguarding learning and confirm that they have read and understood relevant Parity Education policies and procedures.
Professional discussion
We speak with applicants about their experience, approach to SEND and safeguarding, and the types of young people and assignments they are best suited to support.
